Atlanta Seeks Police & Fire Presence at Fort McPherson

The City of Atlanta is working to relocate three key divisions of Police & Fire to the new Fort McPherson Development. The City is asking the Army for a no-cost transfer of a portion of the “Parkway Neighborhood” district to be used for these efforts. Proponents site that with the current housing market there is no short or medium range need for additional housing on the base redevelopment site.
Instead, The City of Atlanta would like to relocate the Police Academy, Fire Academy and Helicopter Operations to a centralized facility within Fort McPherson. Both the Police & Fire Academies are currently renting space from Atlanta Public Schools and are over capacity. This would provide the academies room to grow and save the City the cost of renting space. It would cost very little to … Continue Reading Atlanta Seeks Police & Fire Presence at Fort McPherson

Help Get the Word Out

Rally Kit
Help spread the word about the Mayor’s proposed tax increase. Here is one of the signs for yesterday’s protest. Print it out in color and place it in a front window to show your opposition to the proposed property tax increase.

Then get out and share the word with your neighbors. So many people have come up and thanked me for the breakdown of what the tax increase would mean to them. One resident admitted he didn’t even know what a Mil was and how it impacted him.
So, print out the flyer from yesterday’s rally and share it with your neighbors. You can either print it single sided and hand out as an 8.5×11, or you can print the same thing on each side then cut in half to get twice the flyers for the same amount of paper and ink. Either way you do it, just get the … Continue Reading Help Get the Word Out
