In June, news outlets started to report that a deal was in the works for Fort McPherson to be purchased by Tyler Perry Studios (TPS). This was confirmed by the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority (MILRA) at the Community Engagement Subcommittee Meeting held on June 25th. Many of the details are being withheld due to ongoing negotiations, here is what we have been able to determine so far. Both MILRA and TPS have prepared Memorandums of Understanding, their next steps will be to negotiate the two versions into one acceptable contract.
